A Safe Space

In Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, the urgent need for a dedicated neurodivergent mental health service is becoming increasingly apparent. The current landscape is marked by a severe lack of specialised services, leaving many individuals without the support they critically need. With NHS waiting lists for diagnosis stretching for years, those seeking help find themselves in a disheartening limbo. This delay not only exacerbates mental health issues but also leaves individuals without guidance or assistance during a crucial period. The absence of support prior to diagnosis is far too often reflected post diagnosis, due to limited services available or a vast number of NHS mental health services simply not having adequate provision in place to cater for a neurodivergent individual, and this can lead to feelings of isolation and hopelessness, contributing to the troubling statistic that suicide rates are significantly higher among the neurodiverse community. Establishing a specialised mental health service in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin would provide the necessary support to bridge this gap, offering timely intervention, guidance, and hope to those who have been underserved for too long. It would signify a compassionate and proactive step toward fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

Meet Our Neurodiversity‑Specialist Psychotherapists

We are a team of three psychotherapists dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals with compassion, expertise, and genuine understanding. Each of us brings a unique blend of clinical training, lived experience, and specialist knowledge in autism, ADHD, trauma, and sensory‑based emotional regulation. Together, we offer a therapeutic space where difference is not only accepted, but valued.

Our approach is gentle, collaborative, and deeply affirming. We recognise that neurodivergent people often navigate a world that wasn’t designed for their nervous systems — and that traditional therapy models don’t always fit. That’s why we work in ways that honour your communication style, your processing needs, and your pace. Whether you’re seeking support with overwhelm, burnout, identity, relationships, or the impact of past experiences, we meet you exactly where you are.

As a team, we share a commitment to creating therapy that feels safe, predictable, and empowering. We help clients understand their nervous system, build self‑compassion, and develop tools that genuinely work for them — not generic strategies that overlook neurodivergent realities. Our work is grounded in trauma‑informed practice, neurodiversity‑affirming principles, and a deep respect for the strengths and challenges that shape each person’s story.

If you’re looking for therapists who truly “get it,” who listen without judgement, and who understand the complexities of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world, you’re in the right place. We’re here to support you in building a life that feels more regulated, more connected, and more authentically yours.

Alix

Hello, I’m Alix. A CBT therapist and registered member of the BACP.

Having struggled for many years with my own mental health I found CBT to be the single most beneficial treatment in my life, and then decided I wanted to be able to do this for others. Later, I was diagnosed with ADHD and so this, and all neuro-diversity became my focal point and key interest.

For many of us we have spent most of our lives being forced to fit inside the box that makes everyone else comfortable. In my sessions you create the box and we work in a manner and format that suits you, while following the CBT framework.

My goal will always be to ensure you feel safe, comfortable and supported while receiving the counselling that you deserve.

Basia

Hello, I'm Basia. I  am a qualified CBT & Integrative Counsellor and registered BACP member, with experience supporting children, young people and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD and other emotional and mental health difficulties.

My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. I believe everyone deserves a safe space where they can feel heard, understood and accepted. I adapt my therapeutic approach to each individual, with a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent people.

As a parent of a child with SEND, I also have personal insight into some of the challenges families can experience when seeking understanding and support. This has strengthened my empathy and passion for providing inclusive, respectful and person-centred counselling.

I am bilingual in English and Polish and am passionate about helping people better understand themselves, build confidence and develop practical tools to move forward.

Darren

Hello, I'm Darren. I am a qualified psychotherapist with lived experience of ADHD, ASD and Dyslexia, specialising in work with neurodivergent and SEN clients, including those who hear voices or experience paranoia.

My background in frontline emergency services shaped a deep, embodied understanding of trauma, and I use Maastricht‑informed approaches to support clients in exploring voices and distressing beliefs safely.

I work with adults, children and young people, offering an empathetic, ethical and non‑judgemental space where every person, diagnosed or not, feels heard, valued and supported.
